Located on Kamilaroi land, the Arcadia Theatre in Guyra is a venue once more as the Australian Poetry Hall of Fame. Established in 2020 to celebrate and preserve Australian poets and their poetry. There is a large collection of Australian poetry, the Australian Poetry Hall of Fame featuring poetry and portraits of famous Australian poets. There is a large auditorium with a stage for events, a bookshop, art supplies, gift shop and market every Saturday morning and open mic poetry night every Wednesday evening. You can enjoy some of the vegetarian/vegan delights from Seahorse Medicine Cafe and also browse the Red Door Gallery featuring local and national artists. Groups are catered for with special packages available which include poetry performances and talks on Australian poets and poetry. Guyra is on the New England Highway half way between Newcastle and Brisbane, 30 minutes north of Armidale.
