Christmas in the Highlands – Illuminations is a vibrant, community driven, one-evening annual event that transforms Grey Street and the CBD into a festive wonderland. This event blends Christmas lights, creative lighting, cultural traditions, retail, and food experiences, including the richly awarded Spend in Glen promotion. Art activations, live entertainment, markets and a bold street carnival atmosphere bring community and visitors together for a joy-filled evening celebrating the start of the holiday and summer season. Perfect for families, the event is bursting with activities for the children, including craft and creating in Santa's workshop, opportunity to write letters to Santa and making something truly special to take home. A visit from the big man himself and special appearance of his reindeer. The night peaks with the turning on of the Christmas lights and a few very special entertaining surprises. Proudly funded by the NSW Government's Open Streets Program, in association with Glen Innes Severn Council.
