Quiet and peaceful camping by the Tenterfield Creek. Tenterfield Showground is used by many community groups and for camping and caravan travellers beside the beautiful Tenterfield Creek. The showground is within walking distance of beautiful surrounding parklands and the Tenterfield CBD, where you'll find everything you need, including supermarkets, great shopping, many great dining options, a post office, a news agency, a library, butchers, and more. The Showground facilities include a bar and barbeque area and historical J H Reid Pavilion, a large shearing complex, a grandstand, and a dining and kitchen area. The showground is one of Tenterfield’s historical precincts. Have a look and take in over 140 years of history. All these areas are available for hire for private and public events by contacting the caretakers by email or phone. The showground is also made available by appointment to rest livestock, including travelling horses and cattle. A dump point is available for campground guests and the general public. Cost is a donation to the Westpac Helicopter Rescue Service. There are 10 sites with power and water. And another 10 sites that require you to run a lead and hose to nearby power and water.
